The First Day of the 11th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum Concludes Successfully

The 11th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum (AIIF-2026) has commenced in Baku.

Organized by the Azerbaijan Insurers Association with the strategic support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Forum takes place on June 24–25 of this year.

Abas Miskarli, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, opened the event with an official welcoming speech.

During the official opening ceremony, Aliyar Mammadyarov, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Azer Amiraslanov, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Economic Policy, Industries, and Enterprising; Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication; Ulviyya Jabbarova, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association; and Seymur Mirzayev, Deputy Executive Director of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau, delivered speeches highlighting the role and importance of the insurance sector in society, and positively evaluated the growth dynamics observed in the sector in recent years.

Subsequently, the Forum featured panel discussions dedicated to the themes "The Future of Private Pension Systems: International Pension Models" and "Reinsurance, Natural Catastrophe Risks (NatCat), and Market Sustainability: Mitigating Shocks." Additionally, a round-table discussion titled "Development of Insurance in Azerbaijan: Opportunities, Obstacles, and Solutions" was organized within the framework of the Forum, with the participation of executives from local insurance companies.

Traditionally held in Azerbaijan, this year’s Forum brings together top managers from professional insurance, reinsurance, and brokerage companies, as well as state officials, members of parliament, local insurers, and representatives of relevant organizations from more than 20 countries (including the Caucasus region, Central Asia, Europe, Turkey, Russia, and the CIS countries).

It is noted that the 11th Azerbaijan International Insurance Forum, attended by nearly 400 participants, continues its sessions on June 25.
