Meeting Held Between Public Council Under State Customs Committee, AIA, and Logistics Sector Representatives

A meeting was held with the participation of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association and representatives of the logistics and transport sector, organized by the Public Council under the State Customs Committee.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Public Council under the State Customs Committee, the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, the State Customs Committee, the Association of Customs Representatives and Logistics Companies of Azerbaijan, the Association of Transport Forwarding Companies of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association, and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency.

The discussion focused on expanding insurance coverage in the field of international cargo transportation, professional liability insurance for carriers, cargo insurance, and insurance coverage for drivers traveling abroad.

During the discussions, representatives of transport and logistics companies raised questions regarding the application of insurance products, pricing, coverage terms, and risks arising during international cargo transportation. Abas Misgarli, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, answered the questions in detail and provided information on the current capabilities of the insurance market and the prospects for developing products aligned with the sector's needs.

It should be recalled that at a meeting held on September 11, 2026, between the Public Council under the State Customs Committee and members of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, an exchange of views was also held on professional liability insurance for carriers, cargo and travel insurance, as well as the impact of these mechanisms on customs and logistics operations.

At the meeting held on October 14, a decision was made to establish a joint working group to accelerate the resolution of issues raised in previous discussions and to build intersectoral cooperation in a more systematic manner.
