Presentation Ceremony of the First "InsurTech" Textbook Held in Azerbaijan

The Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC), in collaboration with the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, has held a presentation ceremony for the textbook titled "InsurTech". Edited by Professor Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of CAERC and Doctor of Economic Sciences, the book is the first fundamental academic publication to systematically analyze the digital transformation of the insurance sector in Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, the academic community, and the insurance sector. CAERC Executive Director Professor Vusal Gasimli stated that the textbook establishes a new intellectual framework for the country's insurance ecosystem by examining the synthesis of insurance and technology through the lens of strategic management, regulatory environment, and market behavior, rather than just technical innovation.

Academician Urkhan Alakbarov, Rector of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted in his speech that the textbook is a vital scientific resource for enhancing the quality of education in insurance and finance specialties at higher education institutions. Vusal Gurbanov, Director General of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasized the importance of aligning technological innovations with the regulatory environment, stating that the "InsurTech" textbook reflects a balanced and systematic approach in this field.

Ulviyya Jabbarova, Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association and Chair of the Board of "PASHA Life Insurance" OJSC, highlighted the practical significance of the book’s content, based on real-sector experience, and underscored the role of InsurTech solutions in developing customer-centric service models. Elmar Mirsalayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Insurers Association, stated that the textbook is the first in the country to comprehensively cover the topic of InsurTech and establishes a strategic vision for the sector's future development. Vusal Masiyev, Executive Director of the Compulsory Insurance Bureau, emphasized the crucial role of digital solutions, particularly blockchain and automated systems, in strengthening transparency and trust.

It was noted during the ceremony that the "InsurTech" textbook is of great importance for the scientific study of digital transformation, the application of international experience within a national context, and the integration of modern technological approaches into the educational process. The project was led by Latif Zeynalli, Head of the State Programs Department at CAERC and PhD in Economics.

The textbook was authored by a team of 12 experts representing CAERC, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, "PASHA Life Insurance" OJSC, "AzSığorta" OJSC, "Xalq Həyat" Insurance Company OJSC, "PASHA Insurance" OJSC, "Meqa Insurance" OJSC, the Compulsory Insurance Bureau, "Doğa Sığorta," "Insurtech Hub," "Allianz Türkiye," and "Zurich Yaşam ve Emeklilik".
